I read on am snow that a cpr turbo went 148 and another turbo sled went 150 in a 1000 feet. CONGRATS.

Am snow reports that the turbo sled went 152, Kip and crew from Forest Lake Minn.

Is there a point where the track will start to fall apart? Asphalt tracks are manufactured for speed. But stock tracks? Or are there tracks rated for this?

sure as hell wouldnt wanna get hit in the back with a heavy peice of rubber and possibly studs at 150 mph LOL

Kip is running a speed track on that sled I would bet. He used to run them on his polaris sleds with Mods and Turbos

Actually the CPR sled ran 151 on his last run, and Kips sled on nitrous ran 152. Both guys should be commended for there efforts. No small feat going in the 150 range with full bodied sleds. Great job guys...BBY

What were the ets and mph at 660',why are you guys running at 1000',most ice drags and run what you brung drags , here in michigan are 660', some of these turbos are running in the low and mid fives at 660",just asking?

lickety, this wasn't a run what you brung, or a drag race. it was a sanctioned 1000 ft speed run. (thats mainly what they run around wis and minn) we ran 125 mph in a 660 ft run in horrible conditions (50 degress with water on the track) at a local unsanctioned 660 ft speed run. it still had the 1000 ft set-up in it. i would guess if we actually set up for 660 it would easily break 130 mph in a full bodied chassis, and it would be in the high 4's. we just ran 151 mph in 1000 ft yesterday with a full bodied chassis. jeff

In fact, only 1 sled was under 5.0 seconds out of all the sleds racing there. That sled went 4.88 which was a world record and 137 mph. It should be noted that these sleds are setup to run 660' not 1000'. That sled belonged to Mike Crooks. The second year in a row to break 5.0 in 660'.
This is not to diminish the 151 mph in 1000'. This is Very impressive and not an easy feat to accomplish. It should be noted that Phil Sera's turbo Warrior won the trail class with a 6.2 and 114 mph witha full bodied sled.

CONGRATULATIONS
MIKE CROOKS 4 CYL A-CAT
DRIVER TINA DUNCANSON 4.88 E.T 137 MP 1.14 60 FT

how about the track record we shattered on the grass, it was a 4.22, we ran a 4.070 in 500 ft on the grass at 127 mph. the sled weighed 410 lbs. i never say never, anythings possible, and a positive attitude is what keeps you trying, and keeps records falling. btw, i'm not talking about a stock weight sled for the et part of 660 ft, open mod rules would apply, but it would still look like a rx-1. jeff

Not sure anyone is trying to start a fight... drag vs. speed runs are two very diff of racing.... have done lots of both,,,, drag racing one spends countless hours on set up and launch,, then hp... and if you are the best, you get to make several runs for the day, if not , you are a one shot wonder, blink and the day is gone.... for some of us old timers, you just don't have that many blinks left... so you spend your time working on HP and speed and when you go to the race track, you have all day to have fun breaking stuff... knock on wood, no breaking last three years since most of my team moved to 4 strokes... anyway.. when you get a little older them sudden shocks are not good for the system,,, you don't know if you had great leave or if the old ticker is going out....
