The sled started to leak motor oil this past weekend and i found what looks to be a stress crack on the lower front corner around were i bolt to the frame.
Has anyone else had this happened to their sled? what kind of material is the tank made (its not magnetic)? Is it fixable? Does any one have an extra tank?

That is not to unusual, mine cracked also at about 4000 miles. They are made of aluminum and are very thin. One of the guys had his start leaking on the Jan Munising trip. He ended up using epoxy to fix it. A welder friend of his said it was too thin to weld.
easy sleder

I would try J B Weld on it , used it on my heat exchanger after a stud nicked it, worked like a champ

I had just sold the 1 out of my Rage, when the one on my Apex started to leak. They a aluminuim, I just welded mine up with my TIG. The tanks are thin but can be welded, just need the right machine and welder.

I am going to try to have it welded and add the brace like in the other post, i think i will also try to rubber mount it. hope fully it works and we will be heading up to the UP next weekend . My sled had 4800 miles on it when it cracked, right around the average of everyone eles
