04 SX Viper 700
Been riding Yamaha's for over 20 years. Currently have an 04 SX Viper 700 that is stock, love the sled, but looking for a more forgiving ride (getting older). My husband just went to the dark side and purchased an Arctic Cat 2018 Cross Country. I'm looking to upgrade for next year to a new Yamaha sled. I am and have been strictly a trail rider. We moved to the UP of Michigan over 8 years ago, and would like a cross over sled, mainly for trail riding with some off trail. I am a newbie at off trail and have never done it. What are your recommendations for new 2017, 18 or 19's Yamaha sleds to consider, we have not stayed current on Yamaha technology as we were happy with the Warrior and Viper. Thanks for any advice.

If you like the more traditional seating with a bit of rider forward, a Vector XTX would suit you.

If you want true rider forward, a Viper XTX.

Both have the now tried & true 1049 FI 3 cyl. Killer engine with more than enough power & good fuel economy.

X2 on the viper xtx. It soaks up bumps like there not there. Your back will thank you. It also gives you the ability to do a little off trail playing with the long 141" track.

The Vector would be very similar to the ride you have now...and... the later model Vector's have power steering! I never really though I would need/want it until I bought my current sled. It's a great addition and makes riding so much nicer. Also, last winter my 3 year old grandson fell sound asleep in the woods (tight twisty trails) about 8 miles from anywhere. I was able to hold him and drive one-handed all the way back- painlessly. I doubt anyone can ride 8 miles non stop one-handed on about any sled without the power steering (well... maybe in a straight line).
