The year after, I installed a pair of Fox Float X, a seat jack for my girl friend or kids and a Yamaha hitch to pull the sleigh. I must admit, the seat jack looks ugly but it does the job. When I took those pics, I just got stuck and it took me an hour to get it out. I knew that I had to mod this sled if I wanted to keep it.

I chose the intense for the reasons ur looking for i do mostly trail riding but like to pop into the deep every once in a while. either the cobra or the intense would be for you. Backcountry would be too much for trail riding i think. looks good so far.

Did you have the chance to try your Intense yet?
There is so much hype about the Back Country on forums and + it is highly recommended by 3 local shops, but like you, I think it might not be the best track for trail riding. I am also worry that my slider might wear too fast with the Back Country. I was seriously leaning toward the Intense. It seams like a track that can do it all. There is a lot of guy that say that the Cobra does a good job in the soft. Artic Cat specs those on their Crossover line this year. I am really not sure which one to order but I will have to make my mind very soon.

I can highly recommend the backcountry. Especially if you plan to go off-trail.
I have never tested the other tracks you mentioned, but i totally fell in love with the backcountry after i installed mine.
Compare it to a challenger / maverick - it works good in the pow, but still has amazing hook up on hard packed snow/ trails.

We have a Nytro with a backcountry in our group and another with an Intense. Both tracks work very well I don't think there is a wrong answer. The only difference between the two riders is the one with the backcountry comes to the mountains with us every year, the one with the intense does not.
