Tell your buddies they should be paying you per mile since you are kicking up snow for their hyfax too!
Shockwave,
The 6" shaper bar is designed to have a little more edgy bite type of a feel.
The round bar will have a smoother more linear feel.
Both will bite very well in the corner because of how the ski is designed to work and both having 6" of carbide.
Since most people are trying to get away from that twitchy edgy type feel on the Nytro's that is why from our testing and experience we usually recommend a round bar on a Nytro application.

Thanks for the info. How does your trade in ski program works?

The ski trade in program is just another way that Curve Industries tries to help our customers and gives another avenue for customers to get some cash back for any old plastic skis that might be lying around.
Basically if you have a set of skis that you want to trade in you can send the skis in and based on their type and condition you will get money back for them.
If you go to the following link we give some guidelines on our website as to how condition of a ski is graded and a listing of types of skis to help give you a ballpark idea of how much you might be able to expect back on a trade in.

One last question, I am on a Canadian site placing an order, I would like to know if my carbides that are on my C&A XTX would fit? They are like new.

Shockwave,
Below is the link to our downloads section. In this section is our carbide application guide which lists part numbers from the carbide manufactures that work with our skis. If the carbides you have are listed you should be good to go.
http://www.curveindustries.com/shopcont ... =downloads
If you look at Stud Boy's guide for the Shaper bar or round bars both our skis and the C&A XT line of skis use a 2198 series carbide so I would say that if you have them on your XTX skis now you should have no problem using them on our skis.
Keep the questions coming... that is what we are here for!

Reading a few posts on skis for Nytro (XTX) and one post is talking (mainly) about C&As (http://www.ty4stroke.com/viewtopic.php?t=107000) and Curves aren't mentioned much, but this post talks warmly about the Curves, but doesn't mention other skis...
I guess no one has tried both so they can't comment whether one is better then the other??

I have a 08 nytro rtx with a in inch track with 96 studs up the middle. It came with a brand new set of Curve sx skis with 6 inch carbide. Is this the proper amount of carbide. I just bought so no riding it until next year

I had c+a ON MY SLED FOR THE FIRST 500 MILES. c+a razors. and switched to curves. IMO they are MUCH more predictable in all conditions. C+A bite a little harder at times but just feels really jerky at times. Curves are an amazing product, really helped the front end of my nytro. o and the steering effort is wayyyyyyyy better with curves too.birkebeiner said:Reading a few posts on skis for Nytro (XTX) and one post is talking (mainly) about C&As (http://www.ty4stroke.com/viewtopic.php?t=107000) and Curves aren't mentioned much, but this post talks warmly about the Curves, but doesn't mention other skis...

The download is no longer active. Is there a revised carbide application guide available? Thanks.Shockwave,

Near as I can tell Curve has their own carbides these days, others may make bars that fit the Curves but they would rather you just use what they recommend. Here is the setup guide that outlines which carbides are for what app:
http://www.curveindustries.com/articles/Curve Ski Quick Setup Guide.pdf
The Curves are hard to beat, VERY nice setup on a XTX. I would recommend the 6" shaper and a set of 2" edges to add or remove as you feel fit.
