Last year i bought a 162" challenger extreme 2.5" for my nytro and I've read on Hartman's website that they recommend to cut it due to clearance issues

''Warning: If you are running a 2 1/2″ Camoplast Challenger Extreme track, we have found that you must cut it down to 2 1/4″ due to clearance issues between the front cooler and the lower exhaust pan. At high track speeds, the snow and air cannot pass thru and this slows down the track speed down and looses horse power.''

The question is, should i cut it down to 2 1/4" or to notch the track? Or simply leaving the track as it is.

I run that exact track and have had ZERO issues. Every one i know with Nytro are running that track and i havent heard of any issues with clearance.

What drivers are you intending to use, i highly recommend replacing the Yamaha one with Avids.

Are you running stock exhaust?

cutting track

I have been pondering this myself, i would try it first. I have a skidoo track under mine it is i believe 2.3/8 and in the really deep stuff the revs drop down when i put this track on. right now i am focusing on my clutching to compensate for it before i cut it

I have the stock yamaha drivers, and yes i do have a full exhaust set up with k&n's

I think the majority of the people that run these bigger tracks are also running boost and have the power to overcome the problem

Running a smaller gear makes a big difference plus the proper drivers.
You might have to customize your exhaust but cooler clearance is not an issue till you run a 3".

On my sled I geared it down and installed Walh drivers which were only about 1/4 smaller than stock. Turbo would definitely overcome the issue.
