I am putting a 162" timbersled skid on my XTX and am wandering with 7 tooth 3.0 pitch drivers will a 2.5" challenger extreme track fit. I know it will clear the cooler but have been its to close for enough air and snow to get through slowing down my track speed. I know i see a ton of people running these tracks how much clearance is there and has anybody had any problems with this?

There will be about a 1/4" to 1/2" of room up front, you will be fine. I run the same track and have no issues at all.
Sorry the pictures are so poor but this is how much clearence you will have. A little under a 1/2 inch or so
This is of the top without the metal in place so you loose a little clearence below the jack shaft.
You dont have a lot of clearence but it works fine.

thanks for the pics. It clears the snow out pretty good and you don't think you are losing any track speed.
Im sure you are but if track speed was everything we would all be running 121's. You just have to weigh out the pro's and con's of everything and with the Nytro there is not the option of a drop and roll so the only way to make for more clearence is to modify/remove the front cooler. The CE is a heavy track and you dont have a lot of room for it so you do loose some track speed but it is a great track so its kinda a toss up. Boosted its a no brainer because you have a stupid amount of track speed but N/A its hard to say. I am running a 144x2.5 and I get 35-40 mph track speed, I have considered trying a 141 power claw because its lighter and has more room for clearing snow but I doubt it will be a night and day difference. I really dont think you will be un happy with it but for me a 162 is too much for the technical riding I like to do. If your thinking about running boost at some point I would say go 162 2.5 and never look back.

I'm running a 162 2.5 CE and out in Cooke and Island park, in the deep n steep I had 32-39 mph track speed. The stocker was about 10-12 mph higher. My sled is stock with a tunnel dump, stock clutching, and gearing.

Did you just use a dremel tool to remove the tunnel protection?
