I've got a chance to pick up 2 brand new leftover model year sleds, an'04 RX Warrior ($7495) and an '05 RS Rage ($6999). I'm wondering if this is worh getting or are the sleds a disappointment compared to the '06s?

I would try the Apex chassis first to see what you think. There really isn't any change for the Rage.

Heck yeah, the Rage goes monoshock.
If you are looking at getting into 4 stroke Yamahas at a good price, then why not.
If you have rough trails at the end of the day and that is the part of riding you dont like, both of the sleds you mentioned in 06 versions have the monoshock which is way better IMHO

Looking two years down the road, considering depreciation and the value I think the 06 (at least the Apex/Attak) sleds will hold, then you may end up even. In other words, if you took 04 Warrior and 05 Rage vs 06 Attak and 06 Rage, and you sold them in 2 years, you could probably ride 06 sleds for about the same cost.
Less initial cash up front, but same total cost at the end of 2 years.
Did I explain that OK?

Boy that is a tough one. I guess it depends on how long you're willing to pay for obsolecence [SP?] or wait for something better?

After riding the Apex, the Vector seemed it was ill handling.
