whos keeping there 04

Some have mentioned about their sled depreciating more and talking about getting rid of it. The depreciation will be less if you hold on to it for another year or two, whereas the first year depreciation is most. Even with the new skid, less weight, and better seat the '03 and '04's will not depreciate that much. But everyone has their own comfort level and opinions. Obviously Yamaha will always change sleds so they keep you interested in getting a new one and thinking the old one isn't the thing to have. Look at how many SRX's are still on the trail, quite a few I see. The same holds for your sleds, the bottom has fallen out on all sleds, sales have been poor so your used sled is worth a lot less than in the past, at least from what I've seen here in Wisconsin. Manufacturers won't release all goodies at once, just to keep you buying their product they add bits and pieces. This RX-1 had the '05 suspension right from the start, they just didn't put it on til now.

I will keep my Warrior.. Awesome sled !! Probably will Turbo the Beast this summer !! There may be a few problems with the new skid on the 05 anyways. Maybe the 06 will be the one to wait for ? We have that problem every year (next years sled has improvements to make it better than the previous year) so I'm happy with what I have ..... for now .

Keeping mine :D New exaust (which one?), some clutch tweaking and a Boss seat. I'm kinda having second thoughts on the boss seat, the pictures I saw don't look as good as the stock seat to me :? And I actually thought the comfort was just right :D

I'll will keep mine (Warrior) for at least an other year! I have 4000 miles and still riding! This sled is great! :D :D :D

7300 miles and counting on my 03 and i going with it at least 1 more year ,going with the hartman 144 kit for next year, try a long track ,hope for efi in 06,order 06 and keep 03,not enough new about 05 for me to order 1,the mono isnt proven to me yet so until i ride it i dont order it,all new bushing and bearings on my 03 now and new long track next fall so its like a new sled to me now

Ive got a 04 warrior and keeping it untill 06, or 07...

Its got 1370 miles on it... IT tooks alot of tweeking but it now does what i want it to do... If you dont have C@A skis , get a set.. THEY Make all the difference!!

Im gonna kick some F7 #*$&@ next year and then tow them home!

 I have a viper and have 4700 trouble free miles on her,was considering buying 2005 rx-1 but I will wait for a year or two and let them get the skids worked out. Every yamaha I owned has been a good sled, they are the most reliable sleds on the market my 88 phazer will verify this 8,000 miles and is my back up taking it with me tomorrow to newyork just in case something happens to viper cause I havent looked at my sled for over 2,000 miles, so I thru my backup on trailor but I don't think I haveto worry about anything, just nerves for my last ride even though I thought my last ride was last time. So no matter what, we all have great yamaha sleds no matter what year! YOU THINK YOU SINK MONEY IN YOUR SLEDS ASK THE OTHER BRAND HOW MUCH THEY PUT INTO THEIR SLEDS AND TRADE THEM IN AFTER YOU GO BY THEM WITH 2002 AND THEY FRESHEN THEIR MOTORS EVERY YEAR OR BUY NEW IMPROVED SO THEY SAY!!! I was more impressed riding with other yamahas (rx1's) than any other brand I rode with and drove. Looking forward to being a rx-1 owner....

Why would I get rid of my Warrior when it seems to run better every time out  (1400 mi.)
I'm curious to see how good it will really get.

I'm quite disappointed with the amount of routine maintenance I've had to do though. That day when I had to tighten the track (so I could beat an F7ext accross a lake in a foot of power) kind of got me down.

(actually I'm stretching the truth a tiny bit.... in 6 passes it was 3 each, and we called it a draw) 8) :

4,400 trouble free miles on my Silver '03 ER and I'm thinking I might have to trade for a Candy Red '05.

I simply have no willpower to resist a machine dressed that sexy.

Besides, I should probably change the belt and plugs on the '03 and that could be expensive.

(Wonders if the wife will appreciate either of those justifications)

Although it snowed here a bit today and more may be coming, I think I'm done for this year. After the ground gets bare in March, it takes cold weather and about a foot of snow to renew the trails after it gets muddy.

I'm keeping my '04 Warrior with just about 2000mi (Vermont had only a so-so winter). I like the sled very much and will wait for Yamaha to get their act together on the new goodies.
I'm a bit unhappy with a 1 liter motor that overheats from underengineered cooling and a manufacturer who is not listening to people who have chronic overheating issues. I hope we aren't seeing the side of Yamaha that made some BIG missteps back in the late 80's/early 90's.
