Well they can't stock everything ...all those little parts add up and can put a place out of bis...they may only sell 2or3 a year so not worth stocking....

T&R yamaha and babbits is where I go to get parts

x2, business is business
But, if they don't stock the little items and lose business because of it - is that then good business??

I'm just saying it hard to stock everything

So what you are saying if I walk in and they don't have a hood sticker or a windshield dart then they suck and yes I am a smart azz

Ummmmm......well 75% of them should be going out of business then...my y-pipe broke. And they didn't have that in stock so maybe I will go some place diff.

I never knew how bad they suck .......lol......

We started out talking about companies going out of businees due to stocking small items and that is what I commented on - but a Y-pipe is not a small stock item and I wouldn't expect that to be in stock.
On the other hand, I don't consider it unreasonable to expect dealers to stock wheels, fasteners and common wear items. I have had to wait 2 weeks for a small suspension wheel that is basically a common part to most Yamaha sleds.
Maybe this is more of a problem when a dealer is selling more than one brand and the other brand is a bigger seller, therefore, they concentrate on pleasing the majority.
Also my dealer says that he can get his AC parts in 2-3 days as opposed to 2 weeks from Yamaha - so maybe it is just as much a supplier problem as a dealer issue.

Most of the small things they have in stock if not my dealer can have it next day...around here most parts we get from parts unlimited or Marshall wheels, windshield, anything also get alot of fasteners from fastenal

But yes places that have a few diff brands don't have everything in stock....I always call first ...

Yeah that is good service, can't find fault if you can get stuff the next day or even 2-3 days I would consider reasonable.

I've learned to stock an inventory of parts. If you've ever been to West Yellowstone Yamaha, you'd understand. They didn't even have Yamalube oil until 2 years ago. I carry more inventory than that dealer does.

I was a dealer to pick up some oil and they didn't even stock yamalube full syn oil. They said they had to order it for me. They also gave me the apex oil filter after I told them what sled I had, and they said it didn't matter to just use it! They are not even the same diameter. I said " are you kidding me? Go get me the right one!". Sometimes I don't know how powersports stores even stay in business they way they treat people.
