In the Dear Ralph section of the September 2009 issue of SnowTech magazine there is a article named "Octane Mixing Results" in which "Ralph" answers a question on mixing different octanes of gas.
He (Ralph) said he talked to Mac Randolph at Mountain Performance. According to Mac mixing 1/2 & 1/2 110 octane & 90 octane would give you 95 octane average verses a straight average of which in this case would be 100 octane.. Anyone have an opinion on this? It seems most on here including myself have basically used an average of the two.. (I personally figure the premium pump gas as 87 instead of 91 since you never know about gas staitions, so I get a little built in leeway..)
