well as my brother wants to up-grade from his viper and i was going to do an upgrade from the war in the spring, we started sled shopping. looks like kirkswim is going to end up with my war once he sells the viper.

my problem is weather to go with a nc 2011 apex xtx (do not know the colour) for about $15000.00 tax in with gaurds (never going to have sled without) or a 2013 vetor ltx royal blue metalic with same gaurds for about $15500.00 tax in. ltx is local dealer, xtx is about 30min away. both are 0km sleds.

will i miss the 4 hole motor a whole lot or will the 3 be enough? only have some demo time in on the 2012 ventures and i do not know how they will compare or if the difference will be too much. i did like the 2011 apex when i demoed it.

The new EFI Vectors are quick and a nice ride. The only time you'll miss the War is when your brother walks by you on the lakes.

lol i was already behind him on the lakes in the powder. only way my war was faster than his viper was on the hard pack or in the groomed trails.

he usually makes me lead anyways when we ride.

Local dealer has a 2011 Blue XTX and 2012 Black XTX.....BTW the new sudbury dealer is AMAZING at service and warranty work...NOT like the Old Bozzo's...

The four cylinder can be described as having more than necessary bottom end, more than adequate mid range, and an adequate top end. Any of the three cylinder engines can be described as having an adequate bottom end, and your judgment of whether the mid range was adequate. I did not think it was. It could be why so many nytros have been turbocharged.

darnello, play only has the 2013 xtx left. they sold the blue one and it is $18,000.00 otd.

i always delt with mike at the old dealer for parts and had no problems. service on the other hand..............

My experience

Hi High Speed Low Drag
Just to let you know.... to compare my 2012 Vector with a 2011 Apex from 0-8000 rpm...the Vector is way more...way more than necessary. The Apex was not with me.I can not yet speak to the other speed ranges as the sled (Vector) only has 235 miles on it. Both sleds are terrific. We ride mostly UP trails and Northern Wisconsin trails

I love my Vector LTX. You might miss the top end if your into the lake racing scene. I know the 3-holer has plenty of snort for me and it climbs to 80mph with ease. And besides it is much easier on gas than the Apex's. I averaged 16mph last year and I hear the Apex is 11-12mph.

Let's us know what you decide on and why.

X2 on the Vector, it is plenty for me but I don't care for lake running nor high speed runs, but I would also assume the newer EFI models are quicker?

I am a trail rider and I chose mine for the ease of trail riding compared to the Apex, and an added bonus is, no drone and better the mpg ratio.

Its hard to downsize after youve already had the 4 cylinder motor...
I could have sworn I read on here about guys trading their Apex's in on Vectors and loving them?

Could have been another site because I also remember someone saying he Vector's, new and used. were getting hard to find? :dunno:

The vector is a great sled dont get me wrong but theres no replacement for displacement! (or number of cylinders I should say  )

That's completely opposite of how I would describe these two motors. Apex has less low end and way more top and the 3 holer is all bottom and lower top end. Turboed or non.
