Deep powder ride on this chassis

I rode this chassis (in that other brand) yesterday in deep powder. WOW!!! Coming off a Nytro and a boosted Phazer I was in for an unexpected treat! Cat finally got the track angle and such right in my opinion. Sled would pop right on top of snow and at one point I was pushing snow off the headlight going uphill! I went many places I could never go on either the Phazer or Nytro. You guys are in for a special treat when you get snow and your Vipers, I could not quit grinning all day.

One thing though even if it was good. I pulled the sled completely over at least 4 times, thinking I was still on the Phazer. This chassis rolls over on its side so easy it takes a while to get used to not yanking it hard to one side. Don't get me wrong the chassis is not unstable it is just responsive as it should be. After a little adjustment I rode the usual amount of time and felt like I wanted to ride another couple hours. I cannot believe how much easier it is to ride this chassis and not be wore out after riding.

Sidehilling: this chassis can sidehill! I could never get my V-Max, Venture, Apex, old Viper, Mountain Max, even the Phazer to sidehill for me (I am 5'8" 160lbs). NOW I can sidehill, and I had a blast!

IMO Yamaha got this right.....and did the right thing. Now bring on the 2015 Mountain Max I am ready to pre order!

Yes I was able to try the LTX SE demo last winter in some powder. I was so used to my Apex that I kept pulling it right over. It is a well balanced chassis on and off trail. Only thing to get used to especially for us Apex guys is that you need to be a bit farther forward to make it do what you want at times.

Yamaha got this right???

Never ridden a cat, but this is nice to hear. We don't get deep snow here so hopefully this chassis will be killer on the twists!

Not deep here either except for the ditches which after all these years I have never failed to roll the Phazer over numerous times every year especially sidehilling. Is really embarrassing when all the cars can see a guy struggling over a idiotic move. Sure look forward to a good sidehilling sled. SRX I never rolled in ditch so its not just my lack of skills.

Stingray was it a 7000 or a 8000 you were riding?

Smooth....really really smooth. As fast as this chassis reacts I am sure you will be pleased.....I am still grinning.

M8 2 stroke ? Big difference between the M8 an viper weight wise

I have an 800 high country with the 42" front end. It's comparable to the Phazer for side hilling but doesn't want to tip over. The M that you rode is 38" wide and can be laid on its side with the drop of a shoulder. I don't expect the Viper to be as easy because mine is not and its a 2 stroke. You really need to get your feet as far forward as possible in this chassis to ride it correctly. "Wrong foot forward" side hilling works well with this chassis too.

Suckur I did notice on my rides with the Procross that I always had my right foot tight against the footwell back and wanted more. Is odd they made left and right different. May mod to get more room or just something to get used to.

Last winter when riding my buddy's 1100 turbo in deep snow I thought it was night and day better than either my Nytro or Vector when it came to handling and throwing it side to side. I could sidehill it much easier than either of my old Yamahas. You guys will be thrilled. At the time of my ride I was on my RMK so the 1100T felt really heavy and slow to respond but it hid its weight much better than the Yamahas and was quite agile. The Cat chassis is much, much better than any Yamaha chassis.

All this talk and my sled is just sitting in the garage! It's crazy I bought a sled with out ever going for a test ride. Probably a month out before I can ride it but I can not wait to see what this yama/cat combo is like!
