defective Tall and Extra Tall windhields

Yamha had a bad run of Apex windshields. Tall and Extra Tall accessory models. My dealer received 4 of these shields and All had a bend in right side near headlite that didn't fit. Was off by 1/2 inch or more. Yamaha is aware of the problem. No word on solution. If anyone has also experience this and or has a fix please advise me. All these shields are on Backorder with no availability dates. studdog

They have had this problem since the first tall and extra tall came out in 2006.

Between my buddies and I we have tried something like 6 different windshields from 3 different dealers (some in Canada, some in the US) over the past 3 years and all of them have a big gap on the right side by the headlight. Some of these windshields were medium height also.

On top of that, everyone I've talked to with a tall or extra tall has complained about the same problem.

I don't have a solution. We gave up and just installed them as is.

Calls to Yamaha have only been answered with "they are not aware of a problem" or "that 1/2 inch gap is normal and due to manufacturing tolerances".

If you stand back 10 feet, the sleds still look good...
