The Extra Tall windshield height is measured at 17-3/4'' inches. But I'd really like to know if someone has on and what the height is out on the edges in front of the grips.
A quick measure here on the stock windy near the key or A/C plug is about 10'' inches.
Is the Extra Tall Windy taller on the sides that the stock or just up the center?

Thanks.

My tall windshielf measures about 18" up the center and shows the same 18 inches from slightly to the right of the key and slightly to the left of the accessory plug (as sitting on the machine). As each side slopes down to the outer edges, it measures 12 3/4 inches at its lowest point.

tall wind screen

Same height for mine 18", I also cut the head off the screws that mount to the windshield support braces but left about a 1/2" sticking out so it still inserts into the windshield but you don't have to unscrew the shield from the braces every time you need remove the key/accessory panel to access the wiring harness. I really like the wind protection that it offers over the mid-height shield

Here's the tallest grandpa windshield yamaha makes. Probably don't need the handguards anymore as you can see it offers great protection.

The screw system is mickey mouse though, I am gonna have to jerry-rig it. I think it's designed to not break the windshield in case of a light accident.

Be-careful , too tall will give you a cold back and neck , it can produce a low pressure behind and be colder than a mid ! Tried a tall and went back to mid !

Thanks for the quick replies, I have a 2'' Rox riser and love the hand position. However, with the stock windy my hands are directly in the wind now. Tired of my hands getting cold, so either a new taller wider windy or the riser is coming out. Sounds like the taller windy might be worth a try.

Get the yamaheater

Have that already. It helped. I'm just trying to find the right windy to get my hands out of the wind without putiing handguards on. Never had much luck with those either. Thanks again.

tall windshield

I also has the Skinz hand guards with the tall windshield and they never get in the way of sitting or standing, a big plus to keeping the cold off my hands as I also have the 5" Rox risers because of a 4" extra seat height to accomidate my height and bad knees. :jump:

extra tall windy..

This might sound counter productive but the 06 Attak I bought had the exta tall windy on it but I didn't really like the look so I cut off about 6 inches off the top. Now almost best of both worlds....wide enough to protect hands but also not so odd looking.

Thanks everyone for their thoughts, it sounds like if I want to keep the 2'' riser I'd better get the Extra Tall Windy at a minimun. I've looked at the Skinz removeable guards, which could be the final answer for those really cold days.
