My odometer just rolled 600km and I love everything about this sled so far!
I honestly can not think of anything negative to say about the sled or the sm tunes from hurricane!
-qs3 shock are awsome what a difference comparing to the fox float 3 I had on my viper. Qs3 are smooth and the handling difference is unbelievable (factory settings )
Even with the factory carbide is steers well . I still plan on running snow trackers but wanted to give the stickers a shot!
Great fuel millage for the size of engine and power I was getting close to the same milage as my wife's 19 zr6000
The headlight on this one is wayyyy better then my viper! Both low and high are pointed were it should be and gives plenty of light when running at night!
Team clutches
So far these clutches work really well very smooth engagement and 0 slip or belt dust!! After 600km the clutch faces and belt look brand new!!! For the first 100km my clutches were running warm but as things broke in they started running cool!
The motor( Hurricane stock muffler flash bundle 225/240/270)
I never run this motor stock so i can't comment but I'm sure it just as exciting when pulling the trigger if you never ran a tune.
Imo this motor runs smooth starts well in all conditions(ran in +4*c and as cold as.-27*c) yamaha hit a homerun with this 998. When squeezing the throttle the roar make me feel like im running a old muscule car...lol
Hurricane stock muffler tune bundle
Controlled threw stock gauge.
Dave and the hurricane team did a excellent job mapping all 3 stock muffler tunes.
It goes from mild to wild right at my finger tips that it so cool...imo
When riding behind wife I ran 225hp nice smooth acceleration great tune for a slower more relaxed ride but still has good jam when hammering the throttle.
When i took the lead I set it at 240hp in the more winding trails and the fast acceleration corner to corner was exciting.
On the lakes and the straighter hwy like trails I would set it to 270hp.
This tune has a extremely hard but smooth pull. Love this tune for the arm stretching power especially when coming up to little hills on the trail just wack the throttle and you float right over.
Overall the hurricane stock muffler tune runs strong and flawlessly
So far I hit 110mph and it still had more! Lakes conditions were not ideal for long pulls because of all the snow drifts
If you are in the market for stock mufflers tunes I highly recommend hurricanes set up! They have this package precisely dialled in
Current set up I am running
-Stock muffler tune bundle225/240/270
-Gauge cluster flash( switching maps through stock gauge) with boost pressure displayed on gauge if you have a 2019 you can switch maps on the fly with the gauge button right on the handlebars
-Turbosmart blow off valve
-3 bar map sensor
-cold air intake
- dalton adjustable weights
Since I own the flasher aswell I.plan on getting a aftermarket muffler and running hurricanes 240/270/290 tunes in the near future!

Great write-up! Once you ride these things, and all goes well....it leaves all the bad issues behind. Sure I am constantly checking my Sight glass, Oil tank seal, ROV outlet tube, Tunnel coolant hose, Belt, Rollers, Clutches all the time.....But no issues for me all weekend at 500kms either! And the grin that this sled(tuned with early spool) gives me everytime I snap the loud handle and go, is priceless!
How about some feedback on your Suspension and hand heaters? I understand yours to be a '19 which i believe has heaters that adjust on a scale on the cluster(got any pics?) to see diff heat levels which I would love since Im always going back and forth between Hi/Low on mine...also, how easy are the suspension changes? I thought I heard you need to tap things twice, meaning its two steps to change from soft/med/firm. Wish someone would do a quick video of this as many of us own 17s and 18s.
Gotta love hurricane tunes, the latest version of 240r is simply a pleasure running 87 WOT even...And still way more power then most anyone needs. David has got these dialed.

Just curious, but why. Just switch to the regular tune bundle at that point. Just guessing but I’d bet it would run lean.Has anyone tried a free flow muffler on the stock muffler tunes?

Hi Dan as for the hand warmers they work very well(comparing tp viper)On the highest setting at -10*c they acutally burn your hands!Great write-up! The new variable control are actually 4 setting from low to high!(1/4 1/2 3/4 and full heat)
I went with the manual control for my shocks (no iact) I didn't think having a cable going to the skid would be reliable
And yes I am very impressed with hurricanes sm tune I did another 200km and it's seem to be getting stronger and stronger!!!!!

So i got out today and did another 200km!!
I now have 800km on my machine and it seems to be getting stronger and stronger!!!
Have a question..... Is the Speedo accurate on these sleds.???
The reason i am asking is because i was on the lake and really got the do a long pull and hit 123mph and still felt like it had more!! From what the hurricane gear calculator says I should only do 115mph?
(24/50 gearing)

From what my gps was reading it was always 2kms lower at high speeds and approximately 1 km low speeds compared to speedo. Also before phone died it was reading same as GPS. That’s my sled and last year was the same on all on all three sleds on lake pulls using phone gpsSo i got out today and did another 200km!!

Unless my specs are wrong!!
I will be doing my first service after my ride tomorrow to confirm gear sizes

Gears should be good for 115 to 117 at 1 to1 ratio, but you get a little more when you pull some overdrive.
