Difference between hurricane sm tune to open muffler tunes

So I'm just curious on power difference between hurricane stock muffler to performance tune is there is big difference in power between 270 sm and 270r tunes.

It's my understanding that aftermarket exhaust and/or cai will boost quicker and make noise lol. The early tunes could run on 2bar map sensor but ss and stock muffler tunes need 3bar sensor now, but 270hp is 270hp just a little difference in getting there, i have the sm ss bundle and love it being quite and stills runs like hell

Yah I have that same bundle as you with ss tune for sm the reason why I asking because a buddy switched from the sm tune bundle to the 240,270,300 as tunes and was saying that 240r tune would spank 270sm tune and I couldn't see how that why I asked here to see other people who have done this could fill me in if I missing out on that much power

I dont know what HP number the 240r tune makes, but its more than 240 with a free flowing muffler. First year I had my sidewinder I used to beat up on a couple buddies TD tuned sleds with my 240r tune. Used to make them sick when I would show on my phone what tune I was running and they were still getting beat.

Many people have trouble with bigger tunes with boost leaks or clutching slipping belt where as the 240 tune seems to run strong, many variables, i had an apex with 180hp kit and shocked guys with tuned sidewinders, took them 500ft to catch me so all in the setup
