It only has 500 miles on it since the last oil change. Hasn't been started since April.

Yea,The rule of thumb for me is 2500 miles or in the off season. Which ever comes first

How many miles already on the sled in total?
Also, if it was me id just change it now, that way you can go longer in the winter without having to change it more than once or at all, depending on oil condition and miles.

I would wait until November to change it,So what ever moisture builds up it will be out with the old oil. Just my opinion!

What 2008 Nytro RTX says... The shall be changed once a year no matter the low milage since the last change. Oil degrades over time and won't lube as well as new.
