I did a search, and found that some cables are breaking and some rubber boots are failing....but not sure if I need to replace mine...Anyway the rubber hose that encompasses the cable pulled away / broke away from the RA side of the assembly. So now the protective housing can slide off of the cable a bit and expose the cable to ice and water. I suspect this could cause problems with ice build-up, limiting the cable's use. Can I use it like it is or should I just replace it? Looks like it probably broke sometime last year and I never noticed a problem but don't want to be without any type of RA adjustment while riding.

Hey haven't seen you for a while...I guess sleddin' season is right around the corner!

Sounds like it would be a good thing to change it...

My buddy changed his this fall its different, it has bigger fittings on both ends and has a siliconized coating on cable housing, looks a lot stronger...

Well then it sounds like a nice time to upgrade the cable since my shock is out and ready to be shipped off to Pioneer.

Yup apltx08, you know it is almost winter when we're hitting the boards with questions about shocks, cables, pilot jets (for us carbed guys) and whatnot.

mine broke first season....never replaced it yet..lol

maybe a new design would be worth trying?....i dont think anything will last too long with the ice buildup we get.

Yamaha would not cover mine under warranty. I even called them & told them this is the 10th yamaha that I have bought & they said their not paying for it.

Mine was covered under extended( YES) warranty when the dealer replaced my exhaust donuts and exhaust. Which dealer did you go to??
