Do you need the O-ring in the carb on the main jet?

Every time i take the bowls off the carbs those little O-rings that seal the main jet to the bowls are junk..

DO you actually need them? What would happen if i left them out?

I'm of the opinion that they aren't necessary...I'm certain they are there to help with slosh in the bikes (because they lean when they turn). I've found them laying in the bottom of the float bowls on more then one occasion...I'm thinking they are not 100% ethanol proof...

Nothing to do with bikes. Those are most definitely snowmobile specific, first came stock in 04's.

The problem is that at extreme angles, typically RX1M's with the "03 style" float bowl would suck on air. So part way through 03, they began selling these updated float bowls and jets as an update for 03's. They all came with them in 04.

They are typically NOT needed.

Dok: if you think about why a bike leans in a corner, you would realize that the fuel level in the carb will actually remain level with respect to the float bowl.

Yep...It wasn't until you mentioned the MRX that I remember the float bowl update lol. Wasn't thinking about my physics lol.
