Does 08NitroRTX Know something? Claiming '09 Nytro at 475 lb

If they made a 475lbs Nytro with a 140-150 hp I will be waiting at my dealer before he opens to order this sled.

I think the 475 weight category is the "sweet spot" and getting much lighter than that possibly a waste of effort. Btw, I think 520 is about as heavy as you would want to go on the other side of the coin too.

Ya 475lbs and 145-150 hp and I would be waiting at the dealer also. I also want to say about my last post on here I am not rich by any means but I am single with only 1 kid and am willing tospend money on things I luv, sledding is something I luv.

Lets just say: there should be a version of the FX Nytro weighing closer to 475 than 513 for 09. I guess the question is who is going to get them.




or maybe it's wishful thinking... guess we'll see how much Yamaha wants to go after attracting aggressive bump riders from other brands!

ummm FX Nytro RTX-R???? if it were the trail then everyone would get that weight


and on skidoo and there center of gravity and weight things, go change a track on the rs under race conditions or even a chaincase, brakes too

Here is my take on this light wieght crap... What rides better... A caddy, or a vette... The caddy of course. Then again the vette will out handle it... I know when I ride my vector then hop on our back-up sled (99 ski-doo) it's like night and day.. The bigger, heavier vector goes 60 with ease. The doo sounds like it's going to explode.. So, I prefer the wieght of the 4-stroker even if It's harder to get unstuck... MM.

Happens every year around this time.
If these or any other early rumors are true or get alot of play,many current potential sled buyers may just have had second thoughts and postponed buying until the 09 spring preseason order or next fall.

That would mean many leftover sleds that Yamaha would have liked to sell NOW this season and not have to take a hit and discount in the future to unload these sleds.
Loose lips by someone at Yamaha costs Yamaha $$$$$$$$.
Most dealers don't know much as they were blown away in 03 when the RX1 came out.Edit--Until the dealer show this winter before the 09 model release.
Many dealers are multi brand dealers so keeping it tight lipped is best for Yamaha.

There is always going to be the ----I heard from so and so who knows a guy that told him .... With no names mentioned.
Or just-- I know the guy well and he said to keep it a secret and you will be impressed by next years sled.

Ahhh..Computer internet rumors live on and on and take on a life of their own just like the 2 guys that break something yet would have you think it is a problem on every sled and post on every site and trash the model endlessly.
See it to believe it.Until then...
Any info may even be for 2-4 years down the road which almost anyone can put up a good guess and be close to something.
When the early BRP 08 spy photos appeared on here TY had to remove them because BRP said remove them.That was an actual photo of the rumor.
Just some thoughts.
