Does anyone make a aftermarket seat or FOAM for rx-1??


The 04 is a pillow compared to the 03. I wonder how much of the poor rear suspension on the 03 is really a seat without any cushioning. I still feel like I got raped by an elephant after riding rough trails. Only reason going to 05 is seat and rear suspension as it would cost me more to upgrade to M10 and seat than it would to trade (about $3,000 Canadian)
and I keep clutch kit and Simmons skis.

I met a guy at the show in Syracuse that makes a spring loaded seat/ at the time he had not started with Yamaha seats however indicated that with enough interest he might make them/ he was doing the seats for Cats/ I told him I thought he'd do well with the Yammies as they had ( at that time) the worst ride in the business/ his E-M is customerservice@newtrailsinc.com the phone number is 563.556.6009 / Even though I now have a Warrior I'd still be tempted to buy one as I intend to keep this sled for two or three years/ also/ unless they change the chassis I'd probably be able to put it on the next sled/ I'll be sure to get a seat that's all black/ that way it'll go with any color sled/later
 
Green machine LMFAO raped by an elephant man the trails are rough in your neck of the woods. I almost fell out of my chair laughing. I talked to my Yamaha dealer yesterday he told me he didnt thnk I could fit more cushion under the stock seat cover has anyone tried this????? If not myabe I will have a seat cover for sale and I will have the local upholstry shop add more foam and recover with there stuff
 
I have a 04' but compared to a Cat seat or skidoo seat.. IT NEEDS ABOUT 6 MORE INCHES OF FOAM!!!

A good seat can make up for a Weak suspension!!

I like my suspension soft... and it rides great on small bumps but on the big mogles it bottoms hard but if you set it up stiffer than it rides stiffer on the little bumps..

My butt would get NUMB from the sea!!
 
I would be seriously interested in an aftermarket foam insert if it were less than $300. I will be keeping my 03 for 1-2 more years and that, by far, is the only real problem I have with the sled now.
 
My buddy with the upholstry shop will replace cover and add foam to seat for about 200 bucks not bad Now if I can get Yamaha to send me a stock seat cover and sell it twards the New seat maybe I can cut some out. How much does a new seat cover cost if not under warranty?

How about a used 2001 or newer arctic cat supension,got mine for $400.00 ,yes it works real well,check it out on suspension forum,I have 3000 miles on it no problems.

My 04 warrror rides as good if not better than my buddys 03 zr800!!

But the seat on the zr is twice as thick and softer!!
