I've been running a leoVince Ti. exhaust for a 1000GSXR the last couple seasons and it's worked great. I want to cut it down from about 20" to 14". I can't imagine shortening it 6" would have any performance loss since it's just a straight through muffler, but I'd like a couple more opinions. I was planning on cutting it straight through with a chop saw as long as I could get through the Ti. shell. Otherwise the band saw.

No performance change as the pipe is a straight through. It will be much louder though, something to think about.

Lots of motorcycle guys do the same, but they seem to get annoying after a while. All you get is loud.. and smaller space.

The Hindle system comes with a 16" muffler..and it's fairly loud unless you put a noise reducer in...we originally tried a 14" but it was WAY to loud ( Iain Hayden ran a 14" in snow-X this season ). There will be no loss in performance but it will be louder...I'm actually wanting to go with a 20" this season to quiet things down. If you don't have to worry about noise restrictions a 14" sounds crazy...I'll try to post a vid on mine with a 16" and no noise reducer to give you an idea..but to warn you 14" is loud!
