If you are waiting for the donuts to arrive it might be a good idea to get the fuel tank off and soak all the screws with penetrating oil daily so that they might be easier to loosen when the parts arrive. Also a good time to replace the fuel filters if you never have.

Went for a ride today and my donuts came today.
My old XLT blew something in the brake system so I have to tackle that first but hopefully I can get at my donuts sometime next week-end or the week after?
Never replaced my fuel filters, don't even know where they are to be honest? (other than the tank I assume?)
Any info/pics on that would be appreciated.
Thanks again everyone.

Fuel filter is in the tank and while I have never done it (don't have a good reason other than I've never thought about it ) it shouldn't be a difficult job. I have installed 2 inline fuel filters in front of my fuel shutoffs for more effective fuel filtering.

To replace fuel filters I removed the fittings where the fuel lines attach to the front of the tank, slid the hoses out and put a small threaded rod inside each hose. Then I used a coat hanger to fish the other end with the fuel filter out of the tank through the filler neck, changed the filters and then pulled the lines back out the front of the tank using the threaded rods. Not sure if that's the easiest way but it works. Empty as much fuel as possible out of the tank before starting.

Got the donuts done yesterday
All in all it wasn't too bad of a job, other than actually getting the new copper donuts in!
I used PB Blaster and another product/spray, let it soak for an hour and managed to bust them lose.
The 2 hanger bolts before the donuts were by and far the worse. Thought I was going to break my allen key before they finally let lose.
I'll post some pics of my donuts tonight as I think a few will be interested in seeing them.
Thanks all, for the help, I appreciate it.

Pics of donuts and dis-assembly.
Definitely think they were do for a change, just under 6,500 Km's (4062 miles) The left side clamp was in a spun position so I think that was the real bad one?
Just finished firing the sled to burn off all the penetrating oil and the sled seemed crisper when giving it throttle, is that all in my head?

Those copper donuts are the way to go should last until one of the other components give out. I doubt it will be the donuts.
