Doo Modular 2 Helmet FYI

There is a recall for the visor on these helmets. Something having to do with tighter air seals. I think it has to be purchased within the last 5 years at your Doo dealer. I just brought my helmet in and they swaped it out although they couldn't get the screw on one side to thread in flush with the visor even with new black piece inside :o| Visor is very expensive for these helmets.

Funny, we picked up a Vision 180 at the Milwaukee Snow Show 2 years ago for $100. On our first ride this year, my wife complained that she couldn't see, turns out the seal had failed between the 2 panes of plastic. Took it back to the local Ski Doo Dealer (Don & Roy's in Brookfield, WI) and the guy confessed that there was a problem and replaced it for free (apparently the shield for the Vision 180 and the Modular 2 are the same). I was really taken aback, we hadn't purchased it from him, but he backed the product. I was really impressed. Just thought I'd chime in.
 
Where is the info on this recall? I did a web search and could not find any info about it.
 
I was told by a friend of mine who was talking to the local dealer. I searched as well and couldn't find anything either. I was a bit skeptical but took my helmet in to the dealer and they swapped it out no hassle at all.

Edit:
Swapped just the visor not the helmet.
 
Called our dealer here and they know nothing about it and aren't going to look into it. Is there any other info on the recall? Maybe I should call BRP?
 
I just called BRP and its apparently a Warranty Replacement Bulletin' and anyone with a Mod2 or BV2S should get a replacement at no charge. Bring helmet to dealer.
 
They wont even look into it??!! I would tell them you weere talking to BRP and if they still wont do anything. Call BRP again and put in a complaint.

It was the best transaction I have done at our Doo dealer here. lol.
 
I would like to have something printed to bring to the dealer.....anyone seen anything????

Jeez did I ever get the run around... Went back to dealer after speaking with BRP, they still said they knew nothing of it, and "if" there was a recall on it they would have to send my visor away, wait for a replacement, about 2-3 weeks. I could wait until the end of the season, "if BRP will still honour the replacement, we don't know"

Seriously? So I called BRP again, and they suggested buying a replacement gasket kit for $10..??

Damn I think I am just going to forget about it! A little surprised about such crap service for a $400ish helmet! (and very much worth it IMO)

Thats crazy.
Maybe the dealer here is better than I think! I sent my wife in with it, Called ahead of course, and they even changed it for me. Didnt even ask for receipt where I bought it.

Wow. Even with a receipt and speaking to BRP absolutely no help. They seemed irritated that I was even asking, must be something I am missing here. Maybe whomever I spoke to just flat out hates their job LOL. I sent a complaint email in, we'll see if it helps. If not I'll just forget about it.

Too bad Yammi doesnt make a helmet like this. Never had any fogging and its non-electric, that is why I bought it! Awesome helmet!
 
I bought 4 of them for my family in the last 2 years. They are a great helmet ! Non of us have had a problem with the shield fogging. I will have to keep my eye on them when we stop for a break.

If someone comes up with the recall please post it online.
 
I have the BV2S did I read this right I also need up date of seals?
 
I never heard anything of the seals. Just that the new visor is updated to seal better.
