Can anyone help me set up this clutch kit? I am new in clutching and i would like to see what the best set up is on a 2007 Nytro. Any Help would be greatly appriciated!
Thanks, Jake
Thanks, Jake
I ran red hc primary spring
5.2 grams arm
5.2 grams inner
rest of weight empty in a 08 Nytro. rpms were dead nutz on.
Doing some hp extrapulation I would try 5 grams arm & 3.2 grams inner & get back to me. should be close.
use the red hc spring...ya..& i know its a monster but it works!
I have never done a 06-07 nytro but this is a good starting point & I can help ya dial it in.
Work with me & I will get your sled dialed in.

Take ur time
your gonna need
clutch puller
10 mm to pull clutch cover
8 mm to loosen the clutch weights
2.5 allen to loosen off the small set screws that hold in the primary weights
You gotta be mega carefull isnsatlling the bigg-azz heelclicker primary spring. it is about triple the length of a yammie primary spring & be carefull of the primary cover bushing when re-installing
pm me for tips.

He's right you don't have to take the clutch off. To make it easier installing the red spring, the six bolts that you have to remove the clutch "cover" (this holds the spring in place). Remove one of these bolts goto your hardware store match the thread (metric) and buy the next 2 or 3 sizes of longer length bolts.(3 of each size)
Removing the cover with the stk spring is not hard, put some pressure on the cover when removing so you don't pull any threads out.
When installing the red spring, start by using the longest bolts you purchased( you only have to use three) once you have no thread left, install the next size bolts in the empty three holes, remove the other bolts. Once your second set of bolts are fully threaded you should be able to use the stock bolts.
PM me if you have any questions.

turk,
what kind of engagement rpm were you seeing with the dragnflies in your Nytro with the red spring? I'm a little worried 'cause my wife rides really slow.
I too have an old school nytro I'm working with. What kind of helix angles were you using?

4k engagement with good belt squueze down low; virtually zero slip. Stock weights will slip the belt down low; drag and flies won,t. I use a different then stock helix but my nytro is slightly different then stock. I tested these also on a bone stock nytro & stock secondary set up works fine.
