Looking for some experience on installing a new axle, mine broke!
I see 2 set collars on the outside of the end drivers, and no set screws or collars for the 2 middle ones, are these drivers a press fit! And if so what is the trick to installing it on the sled? The broken shaft came out after removing the speedo side bearing, does the whole chaincase, inner and outer halves have to be removed for installation?
Thanks, Bob

You will have to take the chaincase apart and get the other half of the shaft out. While you are in there, replace the driveshaft bearing on both ends and any other part that may have been stressed or obviously damaged. You will NOT have to remove the entire chaincase. Just the outer half. You may want to do a search on "Chaincase." I know we used to have a procedure for going through the chaincase. If I get some time later, I'll look around for the procedure and add it to this post.

The drivers will have to be pressed off the old shaft and onto the new shaft.
