When adjusting the drive chain tension, is it correct to do as the manual says?
On my previous sleds-Polaris, it was recommended to rotate the driven clutch counter-clockwise to move all of the chain slack to the tensioner side and put the parking brake on, then proceed with the adjustment of the drive chain.

i just finger tighten the adjuster.you want the tensioner to take the slack out in the direction that the chain turns.

Yes. Just do what the manual says

You don't need to rotate the clutch because when you set the tension, it will automatically do so. Also, do NOT put parking break, otherwise you could have slack on the back side of the chaincase where you would want it tight.
Loosen locknut, back off by hand, tighten fully by hand, tighten it up a bit more by wrench (not so much as to damage anything), loosen off by wrench, tighten by hand, do back locknut.
