I am currently in the process of ordering a 1.75 track for my XTX. I am comfortable with the process of removing the skid and driveshaft, but haven't found any good instructions for getting the factory drivers off. Want to change them in favor of a set of extros in 2.86 pitch so I can run the 1.75 Ripsaw instead (figure have to change drivers anyways, might just as well run extros) of the Backcountry. I have heard of using a press, but not entirely sure of the process. Can anyone out there elaborate on the process? Thanks!

You need some one with a press. Most garages have one. Make sure you press from the middle close to the shaft so you don't bend the drivers. After you take out your shaft set it in the track so you see where to place the new drivers. They go inbetween the outside and middle stock drivers. I marked where the stock drivers were with a file as a marker will wipe off. Then I measured-looked where they should go for when I had the drivers off. I put them on 1/8" closer to the center like Robby at Avid suggested. They work fantastic. No ratcheting under full power pulls. It is something Yamaha should be embarrased for not having on the machine from the start. Especially with the complaints about hyfax wear and BRP drivers being sold to Yamaha riders. I heard the Avid drivers were the ones to get for turbo applications. They are supposidly better than the Whal Bro's drivers. Let the guy at the shop run the press. You tell him where you want the drivers installed. You might have to show him which way to do everything. He will know how to use the press you just have to figuer out the best way to do it. Hope I helped some... They charged me $20 and I ran home happy. Make sure you position them in the correct spot. Measure three times press once.
