For general driver information, does the tooth count on a driver dictate what pitch a driver is. In other words can there be a 9 tooth driver with 2.52 pitch and a 7 or 8 tooth driver with 2.52 pitch or does the pitch change with the # of teeth.

Pitch is constant. Diameter of driver changes with number of teeth.

And yes, you can get different pitches with different numbers of teeth. Dropping a tooth on a driver is usually near equal to dropping 2 in the gear box.
You change driver size to make more space for bigger lugged tracks, and to play with gearing.. Then depending on what track you get will determine what size pitch you need the drivers to be.

Just going to order a 136" track and rail extention for my brothers 07 arctic cat F1000. I don't have the sled with me so I can't check myself but the drivers have 10 teeth and the best that he could measure, are 8" in diameter. according to my research that would be a 2.52 pitch. Does this sound right. He is going from a 128x1" lug to a 136x1.5". I have did the research and a 1.5" will fit. What would you suggest for a more aggressive track for off trail.
