Hi.
I came over this driveshaft bearing kit on eBay:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Yamaha-F ... ccessories
Is it a good idea to change these bearings, as my sled has almost 5000 KMs on it ? Anyone used this kit, and know anything about the quality ?
They also sell a jackshaft bearing kit for even less.
What do you recommend ?
Thanks!

i wouldn't worry about changing those bearings until about 4000 miles or however many kms that is. Or if you have it apart, and don't plan on taking it apart again for a long time...might as well throw new bearings in.

Yeah, thats what i tought too. 4000 miles is equal to 6400 KMs. I ride about 1800 miles per season. So I don't think its a bad idea to change the bearings this summer. (The sled has 3100 miles on it today...)
Any other opinions on this ? Anyone tried this bearing kit ?

correct me if im wrong..isnt it usually the clutch side bearing that takes the toll being exposed...and would therefore be the bearing that needs service at round 5k....
the chaincase side providing the chaincase is seviced regularly could easily last double that time id bet...not saying I wouldnt replace that as well at higher miles..

i would replace both the secondary clutch one and the speed sensor one. it seams every year we had someone have one go out. so we all started replacing them every other year no issues so far plus no down time. we ride about 1300-1800 miles a year

jackshaft bearing and drive side driveshaft bearing..
the jackshaft bearing doesnt take the slush and dirt abuse...Ive popped the seal and drilled a small hole and needle greased it with success..

Parts like that is really expensive here in Norway. So that is dirt cheap in my world.
