Yamah has essentially no accessories listed for the 05 Vector. Is the Vector body configuration (hood and belly) the same as the RX-1? IOW, do RX-1 accesories such as trim panels, luggage, and windshields fit the 05 Vector?

All the luggage and windshields that fit a RX-1 will work on a Vector. Check into getting your hands on a 2005 accessory catalog to check on the rest of the accessories offered or stay tuned to our website or Yamaha's as they will be updated soon to show the latest offerings.

I've checked with two yammie shops with "0" results so far. Hmmm. :? No 05 book yet.. I'm waiting for them to offer a mirror kit from the 05 venture to fit on my vector... They sell them for the r-1 sport bike witch is the same but they wanted $79.00 each. "NOT" :drink: The yammie site offers 04 and down mirrors.. Not the same. Thanks for letting me vent. :o| MM.

The new style mirror kits for the RX/RS sleds are out and we have plenty in stock. The new mirror kits retail for $79.95 for the pair with all the necessary mounting hardware. When installing you will have to remove the dash pod and install a support brace that attaches to the hood. Its not to tough of a job and Yamaha has pretty good instructions in the kit. We should have these kits up on our website soon along with all the 05 stuff in the new accessory catalog. These catalogs were first shown up at Haydays and from there they should start shipping in to dealers.

Here's a link with a little more mirror info http://www.rx1.info/viewtopic.php?t=4560

I was interested in the combination sport luggage for my RS Vector.

Looking at the pictures, the luggage has two straps that attach to the rear bumper ande go between the exhaust pipes on the RX-1.

Anyone know if this luggage will fit on the RS Vector? If so how do you avoid those straps lining up with the exhaust exit ports?

The combination sports luggage will fit on the Vector. The straps you are referring to actually come down more in the center of the sled than the sides so they shouldn't interfere with the exhaust at all.

SS - Most of the guys installing them on the 136"ers have been riveting a u-shaped bracket to the tunnel to run the strap through. The new bags from Yamaha have been coming with a bracket. I might be able to get my hands on a bracket from yamaha or something from the local hardware store might work.

I can give you my opinion on the mirrors.. I looked at a venture and they work better than my 01 V-max mirrors. They do fold back so the cover "SHOULD" fit. The 04 and older mirrors found on other yammies look like they would be hidden behide the hands. "TOO" low on the body. MM. :yam:

Thanks Kevin,

I knew the solution had to be obvious or I might have thought of it.

Phantom,

MadMax is right, having ridden with the older style mirrors on a RX1 for two seasons I know they don't offer very good visibility. The new style mirrors seem like they'll function very well even if they do make the machine look like a bug. Take some time to sit on the Venture when you go to the show at Syracuse to see how they work for you. I'm still debating on whether to turn my sweet looking Silver Rage into a bug or just go back to a wrist mirror.
