Dupli-Color match to Yamaha silver

FWIW.
I found a spray paint to match the typical yamaha silver found on most front susp. components, both trailing arm and a-arm.
Its Dupli-Color High performance wheel coating along with there clear coat.
Bought it at Advance auto, but this brand is well known and I assume available elsewhere.
It's a very close match right down to the fine metal flake.
I will try to include some pics of the viper susp.

The old radius rod shows the general cond. of the rest of the susp. parts before being painted.

Simple carbide sharpener, all parts bought @ local hdw. store. Diamond wheel is another story.

Cool, I already use that paint and have some. I never even thought about it matching the Yamaha silver.

There are a few different colors, this one is dupli-color "silver"
only took an hour with the wire brush and a $5 can of paint .

That's awesome info! I have some of the Yamaha silver and it costs an arm and a leg.

At times I think Yamaha would be wise to go with a black finish on the suspension components-alot easier to match up black than silver!!

Either that or contract with a large paint supplier to mass produce and therefore lower the price of a can of matching color.
Yammie has used this same silver for at least 6 years now cause my 02 viper is the same as the 08 vector susp. parts color.

I was ready to order a can from my local yammie dealer when I stumbled across this stuff. With 11000miles on the viper I wasn't going to be all that fussy about a perfect match, just wanted something to cover where the rust was taking over.

If they went with one color, like black, it would be better for everyone.

Yamaha & their dealers wouldn't have to have all the different color a-arms and spindles in stock for replacement parts. Chances are if you need a blue -colored part, the dealer will only have a red one!

I know that some of the sleds look nice with the different-colored parts, but for these suspension components that get nicked, chipped and scratched up-keep it simple for everyone.

I dont think standardizing on a stock color is the issue with regard to pricing. If Yamaha sold bottled water they would charge you $10 a bottle.....and people would buy it.
