Has anyone bought one of these on ebay ?? Are they legit ?? It would cost $877 from Yamaha but an authorized dealer in Wisc is selling the same coverage for $499 on ebay.. Sounds too good to be true.. but I'd much rather keep the money in my pocket then Yamaha's.

I bought my kawasaki extended warranty on ebay for about half price. Dealers can sell a warranty for whatever they want to.

Dealers that sell warranties in large volumes get to buy the warranties from Yamaha at significantly discounted prices, so dealers that sell a lot of YES warranties still make $$ selling them for $499.

Low volume dealers pay top dollar for the few warranties that they do sell.

I bought a YES warranty on my Rx-1 from Port Yamaha five years ago. Totally legit, great deal. Wish I had done it again on my Apex. It would've paid for itself 4 times by now.

When I bought my sled I used the EBay price as a negotiating point and my dealer gave me the warranty at the same price I could get it for online (even taking into account the 8% bing cashback). I have no problem spending money at my dealer because they treat me fairly as in this instance. So if you can, buy from your dealer. If they won't be flexible on the price, then I wouldn't have a problem going online.

That's what I did. Went to my local dealer and he gave it to me for $550.. An extra $50 to keep him happy is worth it. He's a pretty nice guy to deal with.. Thanks to everyone for their replies..

I bought it also on ebay, I had checked with Yamaha before I purchased, great plan and half the price. I checked with my local dealer, it is on the Yamaha sytem, so the guy is totally legit. I have already had repairs done, no cost to me at all. Glad I had the plan! Wig

y.e.s

Can I buy a extended warranty on a used sled? I have a 05 with 3300 miles yamaha told me couldn't is this true?

Yes, you needed to purchase the plan within the original warranty period which was 12 months, otherwise you are out of luck.

I think all you can do at this point is talk to your dealer, maybe he can help you out. The plans are certainly worth it, these sleds are sooooo expensive to work on and parts are amazingly costly! Wig
