Hey Bob Miller, I remember you posting a month ago that you were not going to get the ECP kit. Why the interest now???? Because it works like Freddie said it would?? Stock clutching stock warrior vs. ECP warrior with stock clutching??? The ECP warrior will totally blow away the stock one. BUT MAKE SURE YOUR CLUTCH IS ALIGNED PROPERLY. Isnt it funny that after all the complaining about loss of top end with a ECP kit is no longer an issue on this forum???? Hmmmmm maybe some stuborn people listened to Freddie when he said that the ECP kit magnifys the already existing clutch misalignments. I wasnt one of the loss of top end complainers but I still gained more top speed when I aligned my clutches as Freddie told me how to. My offset was off by a 1/4 inch. It went from 126 to 133 on the dream meter. Again Bob, just buy the damn thing and try it already. It really works and it is the best improvement you can make to horsepower on your sled a side from buying a turbo.----Cubby

Hey Cubby thanks for the feedback!
Yes I am a skeptic and I was reading a lot of pro's and con's on the ECP kit so that's why I thought; why bother
I was reading about excess oil consumption, loss of top speed, blown out half moons on the valve cover's, oil all over the place etc.. etc..
So ya can't blame me for loosing interest
But lately I've been reading much positive feedback and positive results of testing done by Freddie. Plus the second year of the Warrior I can have an all new "BORN AGAIN SLED"
Now tell me something; how will my ECP equipped Warrior with stock clutching run against the competition? Rev 800, ZR900, F7? 8)

Hey Bob, stock clutching against those is a toss -up. I am a complete bonehead when it comes to clutching but if I have a question I call Bender and they tell me what to do. There's a guy at Bender named Mike and he is like a carbon copy of Freddie. All he want's is for his customers to be satisfied with his products and will help you in anyway he can. Here's an example. Dynarex told me to get my RPMs up from 10,400 to 10,700 to get the most out of the ECP kit. All I did was call this Mike guy and asked him how to do this. Four calls later to Mike while I had my hands in the clutch and I have it handled. As for my sled with clutching and a pipe against a rev 800, zr900 its no problem. I am still working on the F7, man those things are quick. I lake raced on 4 times and it was 2 for me and 2 for him. real close too.---- Cubby

i think all of the cons of the ecp filter kit have been addressed and corrected like oil leaks freezeups top end etc...
no more excuses....

Three of us have the ECP filter kits, latest stage two clutch kits clutch alignment and dealerinstalled evacuation system. We all like them so far except sketr can still kick our #*$&@ big time at any speed, especially top end. He gets 5 to 10 mph faster on radar than we do at a half mile. He just keeps pulling us on top end.
His sled is stock except clutch work and had 11,500 miles on it when we last raced. Our sleds range from 2,000 miles to 7,000 miles.
When we were in the UP we ran against 2 other filter kit sled and we were all about the same.

I fail to ever remember a post stating that the problems you listed above were a result of the air kit?
Where could I find this information?
I am certain that none of this is a cause related to the installation of the air kit but if you could provide me with some links, I will address them.

Anyone who blames the ECP filter kit for oil consumption, blown out valve cover seals and the ETC. are flat out WRONG and worse than that, they are "shooting from the hip" and casting a bad light on a great product. The ECP kit now with the cranckcase evac mod. will in fact help reduce oil consumption and add power as Supertuner and Dynarex have shown. We are learning from this forum that the oil consumption problem may be due to carbon deposits in the piston ring grooves. Blown valve cover seals are due to a detail overlooked in the original Yamaha design: ice blocking the crankcase breather. Loss of top speed: most, not all, have concluded the ECP kit was responsible for this after testing in a very unscientific way, the biggest variable in this testing being traction. Asphalt drags this summer will prove the ECP kit builds power and speed IF installed correctly and ALL details are tended to.
