I am toying with the idea of ECP's for my mountain sled. Are they worth it? Does gas mileage improve or get worse? My real concern is carb freeze and snow ingestion.

Are they available in Canada and how much does it cost? I am not posting this in the ecp forum because I want to hear from powder riders.

Fuel economy, even with stock.
Sound good
remove a good 5 pound
But Cold and fine powder is really bad, but, it will work good for at least 80 % of the winter.

Love mine except when the sled froze

I've got em and the pre filters only got covered once where it affected the performance. I just brushed them off and all was good again. No big deal.

Trxster,

What is your reason to leave it stock? Heard of bad experiences?

I have my vents covered with nylon, nose cone sealed, but still some snow gets in.

I guess I want to do it because "Everybody's doin it!" Everyone seems to mod their machines and I guess I am no different...(it's addictive...and expensive).

The only problem I ever had was steam/heat. I had all the vents covered with nylon and wouldn't let engine bay breath in the deep snow and any snow that came in from the nose would melt and I would have it steaming out the tank cowling. Now nylons gone, lots of air and no problems even in DEEP snow!

I have a kit sitting here , have gone back to stock. There is no power increase and it makes the sled finicky with altitude and temperature changes.
I re-clutched the sled and put a roller secondary and single pipe on works way better. :flag:
