i was just looking for terminals to connect my electric visor cord to and found 2 right angle wrist-lock terminals in the expected spot but when i tested them (with the sled running) i found no voltage (ac or dc). is there a fuse that needs to be installed or something else i'm not aware of?

The best thing to do is to wire directly to the battery with a fuse at the battery on the + connection. Second best is to wire them to the jumper cables with a fuse at the + connection. Any place else puts a load on a circuit that it was not designed to handle.
