yamaha wants around 30 dollars cdn for the plug,I just cut one off an old 12 volt spot lamp I had laying around that I never used, and soldered a RCA plug onto it which is the type of plug you need for the shield, works great, there is a fuse in the adapter plug as well ,but is not needed because the circuit is allready fused but gives you double protection, you want to make the fit as tight as possible in the acces.outlet or the plug may back out on rough terrain, but I read on here that the yami version does this as well,I just stripped some plastic wire insulation off a piece of el;ectrical wire and wedged it behind one of the spring loaded ground bars on the plug and it fits nice and tight ,but anything will work for this just have to use your imagination, the electrical wire was the first thing I seen when I was contemplating the fix for the problem.

I've read these are real finicky...either moisture or vibration will blow the fuse every time eventually..
so I wired to the battery fused...
but if you want a sweet setup using a 12v connector..
lookup Marinco marine grade locking 12v connector and outlet...I bet it would replace the stock outlet and it is locking and moisure proof!

Who the heck knows for sure. Mine came in the Yammie packaging but has 'Marinco' molded in.
