So I found some sweet blue LEDs from harbor freight for 4.99 with a coupon and wanted to install then in various areas on the Nytro. Problem is that once I connect the wires to the battery the lights come on even with the sled not started (I knew this would happen). Anyways what I'm trying to get to is that I need to find wires that will only get juice to them when the sled is on. Would the headlights be a good choice to tap into? I need no more than 12 volts for the LEDs

I would connect a switch and mount it somewhere. That way they don't always have to be on. If you do this, then i believe you could connect them straight to the battery?

The load control relay powers the lights when the sled is running so it's probably best to tie into that. The easiest way to get power would be to add an addition fuse in the fuse box. I added a fuse in one of the empty locations and pulled the power off of the white wire which comes from the load control relay (the two pink wires come directly from the battery). Auto Zone also sells a dual mini fuse holder that I believe will fit in the box. Pull the signal fuse, plug in the new holder in it's place and add the new lighting circuit to the second fuse.

You could tap into the headlights if you so wished too the amount of energy the LED are going to use is so low that it would not make any difference just do a good connection tap and ground and you should be good to go. They would then come on when your lights come on.

If you tap into the the headlights you will need to do it before the headlight relay which controls the high low beam.

I tyhink I'm going to look at buying a switch and mount it so I can turn them on only when its dark outside. Ill put some pictures up of various points on the sled that I'm thinking about putting these LEDs... Hopefully you guys will give me a thumbs up!
