So I installed a temperature gauge and had to drain all the coolant out of the rad, plus I drained the reservoir tank to. Now I am ready to add coolant and the manual calls for high quality ethylene glycol antifreeze containing corrosion inhibitors, and mixing 60% coolant to 40% water. I have yet to pick up a jug of antifreeze, is there any recommendations on what type, and would I have to drain the rest of the coolant from they system before adding new stuff since it's probably not good to mix?

id get some cheap 50/50. imo there isnt too much difference with coolant. a cool tip i read somewhere was to use the red or orange stuff as you can see it on the snow easier than the standard light green.

Alright, I will probably just pull the hose off by the oil tank and go pick up some premixed prestone or something. Should be good with any coolant as long as its not dexcool, I have read some pretty bad threads about mixing that with the green coolant, it's not pretty.

anything that is silicate free will work. I would stay far , far away from anything that even mentions DEXCOOL

yes stay away from dex cool. it will plug up your coolant passages if you mix it wiyh regular green coolant . i would also stay away from the the so called universal coolants. i too would go with yamacool.

The only coolant I could find in the stores near me that were silicate free was the prestone long life premixed 50/50 coolant.

Peak long life is what I have been running as it seems to meet all the same things as yamacool, like silicate free...
