Ergo's

I have read a few threads about the switches on the newer Yamahas. Since my newest sled is the 02 Viper I was wondering how everyone liked the newer switch ergo's. I have never given it too much thought but it could be a more important issue on the Apex with the new riding position. It will be extra critical with the GT when trying to adjust the shock on the fly. Is everyone comfortable with the current positioning of the hi/lo beam switch and the thumb/hand warmer switches?

They appeared to me to be the same as on my Warrior. Everything should be fine except for adjusting the rear shock on the fly, that will be a pain. You have to try and depress the little mode button on the speedo while hanging on. Then if you want to adjust your hand warmers you need to depress that little button again.

I moved my Highbeam switch closer to the grip.

That's what made me start to think about the switch locations. Especially since I have the GT on order and will probably be changing the shock settings on the fly. I would hope that Yamaha has looked at this and felt that it's not that big a deal. And if it does end up being a big deal, shame on Yamaha for not making the necessary changes because it wouldn't be an expensive change.

Once you set the mode to adjust the shock on the GT it is very easy to adjust on the fly. I tried to adjust the mono on the Apex ER and found it very uncomfortable. It might just be a matter of getting used to the location of the adjustment on the ER but the GT was excellent to make the adjustments.

Thanks for that info! I was kinda concerned because of the different complaints I have read about the thumbwamer or Hi/lo beam locations.
