I get an error code 84 on my Apex on rare occasion. Is it true that this is the throttle sensor??
If not what is it and how can I fix this. If it is the throttle sensor, I cleaned it out and applied fresh grease but did have it happen again.
It only happens once every 300 miles or so but I don't want it to be something that acts up and permanently disables the sled.
Thanks for any input!!

Error code 84 is the TORS. It is reading this because there is too much or too little free play in the throttle cable, or the cable is sticking. When it happens, you are not hurting anything, you just have to come to a complete stop and keep your thumb off the throttle for a couple of seconds. It automatically resets and you are good to go, so it won't strand you anywhere. However, it is telling you the the throttle cable needs attention.

what chief said. My buddys apex just started doing this and it turned out to be the lubed throttle body rail that conects all the throttle plated together. (sorry for the jiberishy discription) They where sticking just enough to have a small delay when let off the throttle and it was setting the code off. clean it up and know more problems.
I have also had this happen on my apex after i've had the light pod and covers off around the cables, if there isn't a little slack when you turn some times i can get this code.I fiddle with the throttle wire and its good for the rest of the year
Good luck

Hi everyone. Has anyone had their tors activate when their machine is cold and then go away after it warms up. Mine spits and sputters and has code 84 for a few minutes and then clears up. Any info would be great. I own a vk professional.

I wonder if that has to do with the lube-throttle-rail explanation above. Anything that has that many moving parts around the throttle bodies may require some lube.
Mine does this when really cold. Last night it was -10 and mine acted up after unloading. I would bet that moving parts under my lightpod could use some lubing for sure. When cold, these parts could be just sticky enough to set off TORS.
Good luck!
