Are the round gaskets between the Y pipe and muffler supposed to have the same silver filler as the "donuts"? Mine just look like coiled wire. I'm thinking I need to replace them also.

Darn thing is turning into a money PIT!

They do wear, but if they are not mashed up and pipes fit tight, they should be good. I replaced mine this year, but they were covered on the YES warranty.

Sounds like the gaskets need replacing. IF in question, I get the parts to do it and then I have something to compare to. If you don't need the new parts I typically hang on to them. But, if it looks like I'll never need them, they go back to the dealer. Usually they will take them back no questions asked, if they are still in the original bag.

About the money pit thingie. There are lots of expensive wear parts in these rides. They are more expensive to maintain. But, if you stay on top of the wear items, they last a long time, ride very smoothly and perform very well.
