hi guys, i am looking at buying an apex xtx 2011 with 3000 miles. Wondering if the 2011 and newer apex exhaust issues have been rectified by yamaha .

I think he means donuts, havent heard of anyone doing them on that sled yet, but they still have them

the typical donut /y-pipe/header issues is what i am wondering. I dont know if the 2011 and newer apexes are having the exhaust system problems of the past models.

Thanks

There could be some validity that the exhaust donut issues have been rectified. Reasons being that Yamaha changed the composition of the donuts for 2011 and perhaps the new Exup system puts less strain on the flex joints...or maybe there isn't enough 11 & 12 model year sleds with enough miles yet.

Time will tell.

I guess the jury is still out on that one, two seasons on my 2011 and 6,000k and no problems yet.

Last time I check them they still look new. I'm keeping an eye on them as the last thing I want to do is replace the EXUP assembly, it's over $2 grand, the y pipes were cheap compared to the EXUP.

A guy in Quebec changed his donuts at 16800 KM, apparently its easier on the 2011 and up

Bull, i dont know of you are talking about the same guy that i know, but the dealer did a bad job and an other dealer did a real job at 18000km and the pipe with de Exup was cracked....$$$$$$$ under warranty.
The rumors of new donuts for 2011 is big #*$&@.
