Coming off riding an apex for the last 8 years... I was able to gut my stock muffler and it sounded awesome, we also did the same thing to three nytro sleds that also sounded great.

Has anyone gutted the stock muffler or replaced it with something lighter or more of a straight shot? Thinking of making my own exhaust with a borla xr1 stainless muffler... Any thoughts or pictures of what anyone has done?

I don't want it too loud, but don't mind more of a throaty bad #*$&@ tone.

I have not received my RTX SE yet, so planning in advance.

I am looking at D&D or Speedwerx, D&D should be out next week, the quiet can that is with 6hp increase and a weight drop, 10hp increase if you install there stainless barker can.

I just don't want it to be super loud...

I would assume since the exhaust is post 02 sensor that a tuner is not required

you only need to tune if you go with header upgrade and high flow intake. Can and a clutch you should not need a tune.

I don't see anything on D&D website.... How do you know this?

yes its there check under yamaha, there is a can listed and read their facebook page.

X2. Their Facebook page has videos with dyno results. They have been working on installing some removable baffles in the barker to cut down on noise when it needs to be quite. Quiet can got 138hp, barker got 142 and the barker with the inserts got 136 if I remember correct so they are still working on that to try and get the hp up on the barker with inserts.

Can anyone measure what size the pipe is just after the 02 sensor? I have not picked up my sled yet, but i'm looking at building my own exhaust and trying to source a good muffler.

Hindle received there Viper last week and will be hard at work making a full system!

Will hopefully have some vids later this week of my viper on the snow with a D&D can on it and possibly the barker as well. All depending on how the clutching goes and if our snow stays or not.

Man you have been very busy barry, keep up the good work.

Have been able to do any good field testing this early in the season so we r taking every chance we get! A normal winter usually takes about half the season before the sleds are setup how u want them. This year should be great with the early snowfall we had.
