TOOK THE APEX GT IN FOR EXHAUST GASKETS. I GUESS I WAITED TOO LONG. HAD TO BUY A LEFT SIDE Y PIPE.WTF IT'S SOOOOO THIN IT CRACKED JUST BEHIND THE FLANGE. IS THIS COMMON?

How many miles did you have when it failed?? Also, I wonder if the exhaust gaskets would be covered untder YES warranty....

pipes

The gaskets wear thin in about 6000 miles and pipes go soon after.
The Yamaha YES warranty does cover the new gaskets and pipes.
Had it done on mine.

You guys that are replacing your pipes (headers) at your expense should check out Excell. They make an aftermarket pipe (header) that is Stainless Steel and adds about 2 to 3 HP at about the same price as the OEM pipe (header).

I'm hoping to it won't be much longer before they are released... :o|

YES

I DID NOT HAVE THE EXTENDED WARANTEE. I WOULD HAVE PUT AN AFTERMARKET PIPE SET ON AFTER PAYING $385 FOR ONE SIDE OEM.

MINE HAD 5400 MILES BUT STARTED MAKING NOISE LATE LAST YEAR. I SHOULD HAVE LISTENED AND CHANGED THEM AT 4000 MILES. MIGHT HAVE SAVED THE PIPE.
