Exhaust Question

I just changed exhaust donuts on my 07 Apex. Went really smooth. Until I got to bolting the exhaust silencer back on. I couldn't slide it back enough to get the bolts in.

What the hell am I doing wrong. It come apart easily. I just unbolted the y-pipes from the tunnel and slid the whole assembly back to get the flex pipes and donuts out.

For reassembly I bolted the flex pipes on then slid the ypipes and exhaust silencer forward, bolted the clamps on then tried to bolt the silencer to the sled and can't seem to get if far enough back to get the bolts in.

07 gt. is it possible when you slid y pipes back and then the entire exhaust back, then moved the hole exhaust forward and tightend everything up you actually shrunk the exhaust system. what i me is losten the y pipe bolts that clamp the connection to the muffler pull it back(just the muffler) so you can bolt and then tighten y pipe to muffler conection. dose that make sence or am i reading your post wrong. lots of great post with pic. on this site that helped me threw this process. 5000km and 2 of mine needed replacnment(3600mile) good luck.
