Does anyone carry extra gas on their attak? I have mounted a small can but I think I should get some exhaust turn outs. I did some searchin but cant find anything so does anyone know where to find turnouts for and attak? part#, price , were to buy? any info would be helpful. Or is anyone riding without the and carring a small gas can? Its a small enough can that the exhaust does not blow on it but still makes me a little nervous. I did ride a little the other day without problems but go to the U.P and dont want trouble. Any help would be great!

For what it's worth, I have seen flames shoot out of the exhaust after a lake run. I don't think it's a good idea to have a can of gas back there. Besides, the tunnel extension wasn't designed to carry much weight especailly over larger bumps, etc.

Not sure if this would work, but what about a gas can in the nose cone area???
That tank I carry is a 1.5 gal tank so it shoul only weigh 9-10 lbs. And I have hear of the flame issue so thats why I,m lookin for the turn outs.
I think the mountain apex has turn outs... maybe you can find parts from a mountain guy that changed exhaust.

Last year there was a thread on that subject. Someone has available a re-enforcement for the tunnel extension made from 1/4" aluminum that could support a person. Also in that post was a pic of a RX1 carrying 10 gals of fuel back there and he had chrome turn outs from a auto parts store. You had to really look to see that they were add-ons. If I could find the post I'd put it in here but can't. So I know what u r looking 4 is available, u just have 2 find it.

I have chrome turn outs on my Attak. never carried gas back there just a pack. The turn outs I bought from advance auto parts cut to size and tack welded them on. They look cool and held up great!

I carry @2gallons on the back of my attak. I purchased the QRS system with the can. The can has no vent works awesome. Have had no problems in @4000 miles with it. It does get black on my sled because I run a little rich with my super charger. You can find the set up on his web site www.craiggerbuilt.com. Comes with mount plate and everything.

I've had chrome turn outs for about 5 years on my last 2 sleds. the smaller size at your auto parts fit snuggly through the covers. When I cut the necessary length off I left a 1/2"X1/2" tab so the cover holds it against the triangle piece. No welding, no rivets. I did put some RTV at the joint were it meets the triangle.
