Hey has anyone gutted the exhaust on a Nytro? How did you do it and how did it turn out? i gutted the exhaust on my 01` WR 426 and it made a huge difference with both power and sound. i'm wondering if it is possible to get this same effect on a snowmobile. i would rather not purchase an aftermarket exhaust, but if it comes to that, does anyone have any suggestions? thanks.

I gutted mine. It doesnt give you any more power but it is a little bit more louder. When it is idling it not that much different but when you get the rpms up it gets loud. Mine wasnt loud enough for me so i put a glasspack on it and now its really loud! and the sound is great. I only spent 40 bucks and i must say that its the best 40 bucks i have ever spent in my life!

where do you get glass packs for these things? the only exhaust stuff i can find if from excell.

also how exactly did you gut the pipe originally? at a quick glance, it doesn't look like the exhaust can dissembles...

I just got my glasspack from Advance Auto (a car store). It was a 12" long without the ends but i think it was 17" all together. The ends were 2" and i used the stock steel gasket. Then i made my own mounting bracket. Then i had a 45 degree out under the tunnel.

For the gutting part, you have to cut the top of it off and then cut the two baffles out of it. Then weld her back shut. I have all the tools needed so i can do it buy myself and not pay anyone to do it. If you search "glasspack" it will show you pictures how to do it. I think its on an RX1 or an Apex but they are pretty much almost the same mufflers.

yes have it on mine sounds great make sure you make an extra bracket or it will destroy you header pipe more down and up force since it doesnt sit in like the stock exhaust just an fyi
