I have an Expert X 136" that was way to soft last year so I sent the shocks to Aaron at Excell motosports to have them rebuilt and re-valved stiffer. I also put the torsion springs in the stiffest setting and turn the shock springs all the way up. This year I am still bottoming it out, not as much as last year but still enough where I need to do something about it. I am thing the guy I bought the expert from might have put different spring in it since he was just over 100 pounds on a RX-1.
I am 240 with gear on and on a viper.

Does anybody know if Ad-Bovin offered different spring rates for the suspension? Has anybody put different springs on the shocks?

Thanks,
Luke

I just checked the parts schematic I received from AD Boivin and they only list one spring option:

C-375-2650-10650 - DUAL RATE SPRING 185/460

It is possible that the stock spring has worn out and needs to be replaced?

Last year I was bottoming my skid with the springs cranked up. This summer I had my shocks rebuilt and told the guy I wanted them STIFF since I jump a lot. I'm about 210 all geared up and even with the springs backed all the way off they're still very stiff. I did tell him to re-valve them as stiff as he could though.

VanAmburg use to have dual rate titanium springs for the Expert-X. Spendy but I bet they're nice.
